James O'Toole
I paint and draw. Anything I produce I try to save a photo of it here.
An androgynous portrait of Max. Max is trans-gender and prefers the use the pronoun “they”, in it’s singular form. Whilst sitting they were illuminated from their left by a green light.
The arm grasps a pole marked with chevrons: symbolizing his weapon. The drips of ink from his arm infer blood. However, the depiction of a masculine warrior is undermined by his lactating nipple.
A self portrait of the artist. The enlarged eye is centrally placed in the square canvas. The eyes, lips and hair take a more realistic form, whilst the face is composed of colourful geometric shapes.
